The Ristorante Rio Verde was founded in 1972 by the Schiavi family and was then taken over in 1989 by the Ponticelli family, who ran it as a traditional tavern until the arrival of their son, Fabrizio, the current owner. He specialises in both faster and more traditional catering. With a fixed price menu alongside an à la carte one, Fabrizio has maintained the traditions handed down by his parents, whilst exploiting the position of the restaurant, which is situated at the edge of an important industrial area and on the provincial road for Grazzano Visconti, an important and popular international tourist town. Customers can thus savour, subject to pre-booking, typical dishes that are often difficult to find such as Piacenza-style tripe, picula ad caval, donkey and polenta served with mushrooms, stews or cheese. Homemade first courses include tortelli “with tails” and Grandma’s chicche (small gnocchi). In 2010, the restaurant became one of the historical workshops of Emilia Romagna. It can seat about 150 customers inside and during summer, it is also possible to eat outdoors. The spacious private car park offers handy parking facilities. <<<
