In the lower Parma region, on a tourism itinerary along which it is possible to admire the splendid fortresses and castles of Soragna, San Secondo and Fontanellato and just a few kilometres from the areas famous for their connections with Verdi, Ristorante Mezzadri–Hotel Sanvitale welcomes all those who want to savour the delights of wholesome, world-famous cuisine in a tranquil setting entirely surrounded by the countryside of the Padana plain.
The cuisine - which is mainly the typical cuisine of the Parma region - offers a wide variety of traditional dishes ranging from chard or pumpkin-filled tortelli, to capelletti served in broth to various other pasta dishes, tagliatelle with mushrooms and baked pancakes - all rigorously homemade. Classic Parmesan cheese reigns, as do premium cold cuts such as supreme culatello from Zibello, cured ham from Langhirano and cooked shoulder ham from San Secondo, washed down with sparkling Fortanina, typical of the lands of Verdi. There’s an ample choice of main courses such as boiled meats served with pickled candied fruit and sauces, shin of pork and polenta with wild boar sauce, or fried catfish, eel and frogs. There’s particular focus on desserts, such as chocolate salami with warm zabaione cream. It is also possible to arrange to purchase typical local produce such as cold cuts, cheeses and wines.
The restaurant offers its many customers two large dining rooms, which are ideal for hosting all kinds of events, and a gazebo in the summer. And attention to detail and the wholesomeness of the traditional cuisine of Emilia are guaranteed. <<<
