For over 60 years, Ristorante Locanda Stendhal has been a crossroads of the culinary traditions of the Po River area between Parma, Mantua and Cremona. Here, local food and wine culture has evolved over time to combine tradition and innovation. In 2010, the restaurant opened to welcome visitors to the Po River; a new venue that was warm and friendly. It celebrates the “cultural ritual” of the trolley of boiled meats, of rice savarin, of anolini in capon broth, of culatello and other local cold cuts, but also serves tortelli filled with chard or pumpkin and rice bombe with pigeon. With the search for and rediscovery of ancient flavours, the traditional cuisine of the “lower” Parma area combines with expertly-prepared, fresh saltwater and freshwater fish dishes. The rich wine list presents a selection of over 300 labels, with an overview of local wines and a careful focus on the most famous Italian wines, guaranteeing perfect accompaniments to local dishes. The venue has two welcoming rooms on the ground floor, a large room on the first floor that can be booked for private events, and garden open for lunch or dinner in summer. <<<
