Preparation method:
In a bowl, beat together the eggs and sugar. When the mixture is well beaten, gradually add the sieved flour, softened butter and milk. Add the baking powder and vanilla. Butter and flour a ring-shaped mould and pour in the cake mixture. Brush the surface of the cake with a little beaten egg yolk, sprinkle with sugar crystals and place in a hot oven for 30 minutes.
