La Quercia di Rosa is just a stone’s throw from the city, housed in the former 19th-century hunting lodge of an Austrian nobleman. Tastefully and traditionally renovated, the restaurant stands in the heart of a huge park that has an ancient oak (called quercia in Italian) hence the name of the restaurant, in honour of grandma Rosa. La Quercia di Rosa serves the best dishes of Modena’s great culinary tradition like fresh homemade egg pasta and artisan cold cuts, seasonal delicacies prepared using mushrooms and black and white truffles and to finish the meal, a rich selection of desserts, all rigorously homemade. To satisfy even the most demanding customers, the restaurant also boasts a rich wine list with some prestigious regional, national and international labels. There are several rooms for diners to choose from, some are smaller and more reserved, others larger and elegant, ideal for ceremonies and special events, and in the summer, diners can also eat outdoors and enjoy the park. All this combines with the passion and experience of the Fini family that has been running the restaurant since 1988; a family that also produces balsamic vinegar in its own vinegar cellar, which we highly recommend visiting. <<<
