Ingredients and quantities

Quantities for 4 people:

  • 500g flour
  • 125g butter
  • 250g sugar
  • 150g eggs
  • 150g milk
  • 1 sachet baking powder
  • grated peel of ½ lemon
  • sugar granules
  • coffee and coffee powder
  • alkermes liqueur and flakes of chocolate

For the mascarpone

  • 500g mascarpone
  • 80g egg yolk
  • 150g egg white
  • 250g caster sugar

Mascarpone flavoured with alkermes liqueur or coffee

Preparation method:

Beat together the butter and sugar and add the eggs one at a time. Then add the flour, baking powder, grated lemon peel and milk. Place the mixture on a baking tray, sprinkle with sugar and sugar granules and bake for 20/25 minutes at 180°C.

Beat the egg yolks with the sugar, add the mascarpone and mix together. Then incorporate the egg whites, whisked to soft peaks. Stir the mixture to obtain a smooth cream. Serve the mascarpone cream with the coffee cake and sprinkle with coffee powder or else serve it with the alkermes liqueur cake and garnish with flakes of chocolate.
