The story of La Maestà trattoria-delicatessen began just after the Second World War with Afro Bernardi and his wife Bice, continued with their son Combes and his wife Angela and continues even now with the third generation, Dario and his partner Simona. Despite a few changes along the way, the venue is the same as it has always been - the store that sold local fruit and vegetables, bread and quality delicatessen products and salt and tobacco products and that also offered its customers the opportunity to sit down and enjoy traditional dishes and the best local produce. Today, La Maestà aims to once again find that charm of the old village inn, without distorting it from its context and by safeguarding its authentic genuineness. Its menu includes a series of traditional local dishes prepared by Angela. Naturally, the menu also includes a platter with a selection of cold cuts served with fried dough parcels and homemade pickles and sauces, fried polenta with gorgonzola and black truffle fondue, meat-filled or Parmesan cheese-filled anolini in broth, tortelli filled with chard, pumpkin or potato or green pasta tortelli filled with mushrooms. Also worth mentioning is the fresh “Maestà-style” house pasta with a triple meat sauce. Main courses include pork cheeks slow braised in Lambrusco wine, Parmesan-style tripe and stewed kidneys and gizzards. <<<
